Although Bethel Apostolic Church had its small beginnings; it has expanded steadily over the past 40+ years. The church started in October 1972 in a small store front building on Franklin Street in Havre de Grace. The first congregation consisted of a group of about 25 people and grew to about 50 within the first two years. In 1974, the church decided to purchase a larger sanctuary on Washington Street which was formerly the State Theatre building.
In 1981 The building was sold and seven acres of land was purchased by the church at the present location on Earlton Road. With the dedication and support of the congregation, the new building was erected. After a few years, the congregation grew to 200 and a new sanctuary was needed.
In March 1992, the church moved into the new sanctuary at the same location. The old sanctuary building was then converted into Bethel Day Care Center and Bethel Christian Academy.
In 1996, a multipurpose building center was built which is used for various church functions such as basketball, youth activities, banquets, and receptions, just to name a few.
In 2005, our sanctuary was expanded when the platform was enlarged, and a prayer room and beautiful new baptistery were added.
In August 2016, Jonathan Flosser was elected the new Pastor, and Pastor Flosser became the Senior Pastor, and the name was changed to Bethel Christian Center. All of this was set to take affect January 1, 2017.
The church continues to grow with powerful services every Sunday and Wednesday. A bus and van offer free transportation.
